Lakshmi Balusu was named Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Now Optics in September 2018. In this role, Balusu is responsible for defining the company’s IT architecture, managing and overseeing IT projects, planning and developing applications supporting business operations, and ensuring the security of IT systems and processes.   

Previously, Balusu served as Vice President, Financial Systems for Perry Ellis International, Inc. During Balusu’s nearly 20 years at Perry Ellis, he led the architecture, design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide systems and financial reporting functions. He also developed more efficient event control and workflow driven management systems to improve the speed of the business process. Additionally, Balusu collaborated with senior executives to translate their business strategies into requirements for strategic systems. 

Balusu holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from JG College of Commerce. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and an ISO 9000 Auditor. 

Balusu disconnects from technology through gardening and is a passionate globe trekker logging miles hiking in national forests and summiting mountains.
